The JoyNap Team

The people who build JoyNap, the shared-care baby tracker for iPhone. We write about sharing baby care: night shifts, handoffs and tracking together.

Who we are

JoyNap is the shared-care baby tracking app that keeps every caregiver in sync: feeds, sleep, diapers and milestones, the moment they happen. This blog covers the part of shared care that happens away from the screen: who takes which night, how to hand the baby to a grandparent or a nanny, and how to keep everyone on the same page.

How posts are made

  • Researched from primary sources. Health and safety guidance comes from organizations such as the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), read on their own pages. Every post lists its sources at the end.
  • Fact-checked. A post with a health or safety line is checked against those sources again, separately from the research, before it goes up.
  • Edited by the JoyNap team. Someone on the team reads every post on a phone, cuts what doesn’t help, and checks each app detail against the current app.
  • Kept current. Each post shows when its sources were last checked. Posts with health or safety guidance are reviewed every six months, and again whenever a guideline they cite changes. The “Updated” date moves only when the content does, not for typos.
  • No invented stories. We don’t make up anecdotes, quotes or reviews. “We” always means the JoyNap team.
